Some containers suggest their own story immediately. This one looks like a tiny raised garden bed.

The container

The galvanized piece came from Valley Thrift for $3.99. It measures 16 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 6 inches high. It was in excellent condition and needed only washing.

The small amount of foam left from the first can barely began the base, so a second can will be needed before carving can start.

Two ideas taking root

The first idea is a garden run by fairies. The second is a wildflower world overrun by tiny blooms and flying figures. The final design may combine both: artificial miniature flowers for durable close detail and living flowers growing around it.

It will sit outdoors along the deck where wildflowers already grow, with cascading flowers softening the galvanized edge and connecting the container to the larger bed.
